Beacon / Alpine Chapel Summer Residency
Why Telluride?
Telluride, Colorado is a breathtaking mountain town tucked deep in the San Juan Mountains, known for its world-class skiing, endless hiking trails, waterfalls, and the kind of scenery that feels almost unreal. While the beauty and adventure attract visitors year-round, the heartbeat of the town is its seasonal workforce—young adults who come from across the country and the world to work as lift operators, ski instructors, baristas, servers, guides, and retail staff.
They are adventurous, passionate, and eager to experience mountain life, yet often face real challenges: high costs of living, crowded housing, unpredictable work, and the ups and downs of being far from home. These are the young adults you will work alongside, live with, and share your faith with.
Program Overview
The Beacon / Alpine Chapel Summer Residency is designed to give young adults the opportunity to live out their faith and build trust in the marketplace—essentially earning the right to be heard. By working alongside people from diverse backgrounds, residents gain real-world experience in living out faith and caring for people.
At the same time, the church comes alongside each resident with encouragement, discipleship, development, and resources to equip them further in their walk and witness. Residents are trained by members of Alpine Chapel and Beacon who are gifted leaders and practitioners in Leadership, Spiritual Growth, Faithful Work, Marketplace Ministry, Financial Stewardship, Evangelism, and Vocational Ministry.
